Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) is a statutory body established under thо Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1892. The SAT is located at Mumbai, and the Judicial Member, upon selection, will be posted at Mumbai.
Details of the Job/Internship
Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs is inviting application for the post of Judicial Member in Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT), Mumbai.
Eligibility
Qualifications (as per Rule 3(7)(b) of the Tribunal (Conditions of Service) Rules, 2021):
- The candidate must be:
- A Judge of a High Court (currently serving or retired), OR
- An advocate with at least 10 years of experience in litigation related to the financial sector before SEBI, SAT, High Court, or Supreme Court.
Additional Eligibility Criteria:
- The candidate must not have any financial or other interests that could prejudicially affect their functions as a Judicial Member.
- The appointment requires a Certificate of Medical Fitness issued by an authority specified by the Central Government.
- The candidate must be at least 50 years old as of the last date for submission of applications (as per Section 3(1) of the Tribunals Reforms Act, 2021).
- The Judicial Member will serve a term of 4 years or until the age of 67, whichever is earlier (as per Section 5(i) of the Tribunals Reforms Act, 2021).
Salary/Stipend
The Judicial Member of the Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) receives a fixed salary of ₹2,25,000 per month.
