Details of the Job/Internship

Bhatt & Joshi Associates is hiring a full-time, on-site Junior Associate in Direct Tax Litigation to join their office in Ahmedabad. The Junior Associate will work under the supervision of Aaditya Bhatt, Senior Standing Counsel for the Income Tax Department, assisting in all aspects of tax litigation on behalf of the Revenue.

Role and Responsibilities

• Prepare case briefs and legal notes for matters before the Gujarat High Court and ITAT.
• Draft replies, rejoinders, appeals, and written submissions for the Income Tax Department.
• Conduct legal research on direct tax provisions, judicial precedents, and circulars.
• Coordinate with Income Tax authorities and departmental offices.
• Assist in matter tracking, file management, and liaison with departmental representatives.
• Attend court hearings and take detailed notes as required.

Eligibility

• LLB/LLM from a recognized institution with enrollment under the Bar Council of India.
• Strong understanding of the Income Tax Act, 1961, and tax litigation procedures.
• Excellent drafting, legal research, and case law analysis skills.
• Strong written and oral communication abilities.
• Detail-oriented with organizational and coordination skills.
• Prior experience or internship in tax litigation preferred.
• Familiarity with e-filing systems, Gujarat High Court procedures, and departmental protocols is advantageous.
• Candidates with a background in government litigation or representing statutory authorities will be preferred.

Salary/Stipend
