Details of the Job/Internship
Lex Mantis is hiring a Junior Associate with experience in IP and Commercial Contracts to join its Mumbai office. The role involves working on intellectual property, contract management, legal drafting, and advisory work, with immediate joining preferred.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide legal support for review and negotiation of contractual terms and conditions.
- Draft and assist in formulating company policies, including POSH compliance.
- Handle client queries and draft legal opinions.
- Manage trademark and copyright applications, including drafting, filing, prosecution, oppositions, cancellations, and assignments.
- Draft and review cease and desist notices and other IP infringement communications.
- Draft and review agreements such as MSAs, NDAs, website policies, collaboration agreements, employment agreements, MOUs, and procurement policies.
- Conduct legal research and prepare case law updates.
- Assist in vetting contracts and preparing presentations, notes, and legal summaries.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (BA LLB, BLS LLB, LLB / LLM).
- Minimum 1.5 years of work experience in IP and contract management in an IP law firm or in-house.
- Enrollment with the Mumbai Bar Council.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
