Details of the Job/Internship
MTA Solutions Global is hiring a Junior IP Lawyer with 3+ years of experience to join their office in Dubai. The role involves leading the company’s global intellectual property programme, including trademarks, patents, copyrights, trade secrets, and domains.
Role and Responsibilities
- Design the annual filing and renewal roadmap by IP type, territory, class, and budget.
- Audit the IP portfolio, identify gaps, and recommend defensive or offensive filings.
- Oversee knockout and full searches, issue legal research and opinions, and approve go/no-go decisions.
- Direct outside agents on national and Madrid filings and manage examiner actions, renewals, and recordals.
- Maintain and update the internal IP registry and lead copyright registrations.
- Decide on oppositions, cancellations, DMCA notices, UDRP/URS complaints, customs seizures, platform takedowns, and litigation.
- Lead settlement negotiations and supervise external lawyers in multi-jurisdictional IP cases.
- Ensure strategic use of registrar and platform abuse channels for IP enforcement and domain recovery.
- Track and report cost-benefit metrics for enforcement actions.
- Draft and negotiate IP clauses in licensing, distribution, M&A, and technology agreements.
- Advise marketing, product, R&D, and HR teams on trademark and copyright usage.
- Oversee monitoring and legal escalation of infringements across domains, app stores, ads, social media, and code repositories.
- Authorise rapid takedowns through registrars and platforms such as Netcraft, Cloudflare, and Google TCRP.
- Maintain an audit-ready docket and a live risk dashboard.
- Deliver weekly updates to the Head of IP and quarterly reports to the Board.
- Mentor enforcement specialists and paralegals and develop SOPs and playbooks.
- Drive continuous improvements to reduce cycle times and external spend.
Eligibility
- LL.B./JD and an active licence to practise law in at least one jurisdiction.
- 3+ years of hands-on IP experience, including global brand protection, takedown and domain dispute enforcement, and contested matters.
- Proven success in oppositions, UDRP/URS matters, and at least one multi-country litigation or high-value settlement.
- Strong contract drafting skills for licensing and technology transactions.
- Fluent English; an additional Asian or EU language is an advantage.
- Proficiency with IP management and brand monitoring platforms such as Corsearch, MarkMonitor, and Red Points, along with strong Excel/Sheets capability.
