Details of the Job/Internship

Kingston Educational Institute (KEI) is seeking a candidate for the position of Junior Lawyer to join their office in Kolkata.

Role and Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and prepare case summaries, briefs, and reports.
• Draft, review, and vet various legal documents, agreements, and institutional policies.
• Assist in compliance matters related to the Trust and Society Act, UGC, AICTE, BCI, and Higher Education Department regulations.
• Liaise with external counsel, government authorities, and internal departments for ongoing cases and compliance requirements.
• Support in drafting notices, replies, and legal correspondence.
• Maintain and update legal records, case files, and institutional compliance registers.
• Provide legal assistance in matters related to property, contracts, affiliations, and intellectual property rights.
• Participate in student engagement activities by providing legal exposure and accompanying law students to courts for practical training.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized university.
• Valid license to practice law under the Bar Council of India.
• Proficiency in legal drafting, research, and interpretation of statutes.
• Familiarity with Trust, Society, and Education Laws.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Prior internship or experience in educational, corporate, or institutional law is preferred.

Salary/Stipend
