Details of the Job/Internship
eJAmerica is hiring a Junior Legal & HR Compliance Associate with experience of 1 year and above to join their office in Mumbai/Navi Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Ensuring company compliance with U.S. labor laws and employment regulations.
- Drafting, reviewing, and updating employment contracts, HR policies, compliance documents, and legal agreements.
- Conducting internal HR audits and risk assessments and handling compliance-related issues.
- Supporting employee relations, handling grievances, and ensuring compliance with anti-discrimination and equal employment opportunity laws.
- Staying updated on labor law changes and aligning company policies accordingly.
- Assisting in HR-related legal matters, including terminations, disputes, and contract negotiations.
- Assisting in onboarding, payroll, benefits administration, and employee lifecycle management.
- Maintaining HR records and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
- Supporting performance management, employee engagement, and retention initiatives.
- Coordinating with finance and payroll teams to ensure accurate salary processing, tax deductions, and benefits compliance.
Eligibility
- LLM/LLB or equivalent qualification in HR and Labor Laws.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in legal compliance and HR operations with a strong understanding of U.S. labor laws.
- Knowledge of FLSA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, EEOC, NLRA, and other employment regulations.
- Familiarity with HRIS, payroll systems, and compliance tools.
- Strong legal interpretation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
