Details of the Job/Internship
Unimarks Legal is hiring a Junior Legal Associate – Intellectual Property Rights with 0 to 2 years of experience to join their office in Chennai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on protection, enforcement, and commercialization of IP, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and designs.
- Assist clients in developing tailored IP protection strategies.
- Advise on IP licensing, technology transfer agreements, and joint ventures.
- Manage and assist in filing trademark, patent, and copyright applications.
- Monitor and manage renewal deadlines and formalities.
- Assist in handling IP litigation and enforcement actions.
- Draft pleadings, legal notices, and cease-and-desist letters.
- Conduct legal research and prepare reports on IPR developments.
- Perform IP due diligence and audits for corporate transactions.
- Liaise with clients and provide regular updates.
- Work with IP authorities and external consultants.
- Assist in developing IP training materials and stay updated on IP laws.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B. or equivalent). LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law or a specialized certification in IPR preferred.
- Licensed to practice law. 1 to 3 years of experience handling intellectual property matters in a law firm or corporate legal department.
