Details of the Job/Internship
The organisation is hiring a Junior Legal Associate with experience of 6 months to 1 year to join their office in Mumbai or Mysore.
Role and Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with U.S. labour laws including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, NLRA, EEOC, and other employment regulations.
- Draft, review, and update employment contracts, HR policies, compliance documents, and legal agreements.
- Conduct internal HR audits and risk assessments and assist in handling compliance-related issues.
- Support employee relations, manage grievances, and ensure compliance with anti-discrimination and equal employment opportunity laws.
- Stay updated on labour law developments and align company policies with regulatory changes.
- Assist in HR-related legal matters including terminations, disputes, and contract negotiations.
- Support onboarding, payroll, benefits administration, and employee lifecycle management.
- Maintain HR records and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- Support performance management, employee engagement, and retention initiatives.
- Coordinate with finance and payroll teams to ensure accurate salary processing, tax deductions, and benefits compliance.
Eligibility
- MBA in HR, LL.B., or equivalent qualification in HR and labour laws.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in legal compliance and HR operations with knowledge of U.S. labour laws.
- Knowledge of FLSA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, EEOC, NLRA, and other employment regulations.
- Familiarity with HRIS, payroll systems, and compliance tools.
- Strong legal interpretation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
