Details of the Job/Internship
Speed Team Group is hiring a Land Legal Expert-Renewable Energy with experience of 2 to 3 years to join their office in Tamil Nadu.
Role and Responsibilities
Land Due Diligence & Acquisition
- Conduct and prepare title due diligence for private and government lands for renewable energy projects.
- Review key land documents: record of rights, sale deeds, mutations, and genealogical studies to ensure clear title and possession.
- Perform independent searches at sub-registrar and revenue offices.
- Supervise land surveys, demarcation, and land-use changes.
Legal Documentation & Approvals
- Draft and review key legal documents, including sale deeds, lease deeds, novation deeds, and deeds of adherence.
- Collaborate with external counsel to finalize Title Search Reports (TSRs).
- Obtain required permissions for land owned and exemptions for stamp duty and land ceilings.
Legal Representation & Dispute Resolution
- Represent the organization in revenue courts (Tahsildar, SDM, ADM, Collector) and judicial courts (District and High Court).
- Initiate and defend legal cases, protecting the organization’s interests in all land-related matters.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with lenders to create security interest on land through equitable or registered mortgages.
- Build and manage networks with land facilitators for land scouting, acquisition, and compliance.
- Oversee the management of land records and documentation.
Eligibility
- 2–3 years of experience in land-related legal/compliance roles (preferably in the Renewable Energy sector).
- Strong knowledge of land and revenue laws, especially in Tamil Nadu.
- Proven experience representing organizations before legal and revenue authorities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Tamil (preferred) and English for liaising with local authorities.
