Vandanam, founded in January 2023 by Shreyansh Jain, is a non-profit dedicated to fostering a harmonious world through five pillars: Philosophical Exploration (Darshan Vandanam), Environmental Justice (Paryavaran Vandanam), Social Justice (Nyaya Vandanam), Media Literacy (Samvad Vandanam), and Skill Development (Kaushal Vandanam).
Details of the Job/Internship
Vandanam Organization is hiring a Law Advisor (pro bono) with 10–15 years of experience to join its remote team in Greater Noida.
Role and Responsibilities
- Advise on structuring Vandanam as a trust under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882.
- Draft trust deed and charter reflecting Vandanam’s vision and governance.
- Ensure compliance with Section 12A/80G of the Income Tax Act and the FCRA, 2010.
- Develop a governance model that supports centralized leadership and scalability.
- Provide ongoing legal advice for Vandanam’s five pillars, particularly Nyaya Vandanam.
- Review contracts, partnerships, and internal policies for compliance and alignment.
- Advise on intellectual property, data protection, and regulatory requirements for global expansion.
- Collaborate with the founder and core team on strategy and high-level planning.
- Represent Vandanam in legal and non-profit forums and advocate for policy change.
- Mentor volunteers and staff on legal literacy and develop training materials.
Eligibility
- 10–15 years of experience in non-profit law, trust formation, or international legal frameworks.
- Expertise in Indian regulatory environment (e.g., Indian Trusts Act, FCRA, Income Tax Act).
- Proven success in setting up or advising NGOs/trusts with global operations.
- Experience in drafting charters, bylaws, or governance documents for scalable non-profits.
- Strong networks in legal, non-profit, and government sectors in India and globally.
