Details of the Job/Internship

Akme Fintrade India Ltd is seeking a full-time Lawyer to join its Mumbai office.

Role and Responsibilities

• Compliance & Legal Advisory: Monitor and interpret regulatory changes impacting NBFC and lending operations; advise on legal risks, particularly related to LAP (Loan Against Property) and Two-Wheeler Loans.
• Documentation & Due Diligence: Review, draft, and approve loan agreements, security documents, and ancillary contracts; conduct legal due diligence on property and vehicle titles.
• Negotiation & Dispute Resolution: Negotiate contract terms; manage disputes and advise on default matters; represent the company where necessary.
• Contract Management: Draft and manage vendor and service provider contracts to protect company interests.
• Operational Legal Support: Assist operational teams with legal advice for credit, recovery, and collections; contribute to debt recovery strategies and compliance documentation.

Eligibility

• Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) required; Master's Degree or additional legal certifications are an advantage.
• Prior experience in the financial sector is beneficial.
• Strong understanding of Corporate Law, Contract Law, Banking & Financial Regulations, and Dispute Resolution.
• Experience in managing contracts, legal due diligence for secured loans, and handling regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams such as credit, operations, and collections.
