Details of the Job/Internship

Empowered Futures is hiring a Lawyer (volunteer position) to contribute to its legal and mentorship programs remotely.

Role and Responsibilities

• Assist the legal team with legal research and reviewing legal documents.
• Work with the finance team on funding initiatives.
• Collaborate with the legal team to develop legal strategies.
• Provide legal support on various matters.
• Attend weekly team meetings on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 5:00 PM MDT.

Eligibility

• Currently enrolled in or holding a law degree from an accredited law school.
• Working knowledge of privacy law, charity/non-profit law, or corporate and commercial law.
• Practicing lawyer is a plus.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to social justice and helping underserved communities.

Salary/Stipend

Compensation details will be finalized during the interview process with the selected candidate.
