The programme operates offices in Delhi, Pune, Nagpur, and Hyderabad.

Details of the Job/Internship

NALSAR University of Law is hiring two Legal Fellows with 2 Years of experience for its Fair Trial Programme in Nagpur on a one-year contractual basis, extendable yearly.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide legal counselling to inmates during prison visits with DLSA duty counsels.
• Assist LADC and DLSA panel lawyers during court hearings, pre-trial and trial stages.
• Conduct research, review case documents, and prepare legal strategies.
• Draft legal documents, written arguments, and assist in cross-examinations.
• Coordinate with DLSA, prison authorities, and family members of undertrial prisoners.
• Organize training workshops and prepare documentation and reports as required.

Eligibility

• Registered practicing advocate with Bar Council of India.
• Minimum two years’ experience in criminal trial practice.
• Proficiency in Marathi and English.
• Knowledge of MS Office and prior experience with DLSA preferred.

Salary/Stipend

Rs.50,000/- to Rs.60,000/-
