Listenlights is hiring for the position of Lead - Contracts & Commercials with 15-20 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Functional Oversight
- Lead and mentor a geographically distributed team of contracts and commercial professionals.
- Drive functional excellence, capability building, and performance metrics.
- Develop and enforce SOPs and best practices across geographies.
Process Governance & Compliance
- Establish structured workflows for contract drafting, review, approval, and execution.
- Implement robust compliance frameworks to ensure policy adherence across projects.
- Monitor risk mitigation strategies and legal alignment.
Technology-Enabled Contract Management
- Implement and manage contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems or ERP-integrated solutions.
- Ensure real-time tracking of deliverables, obligations, NDAs, BGs, and insurance policies.
- Promote use of digital tools such as clause libraries, version controls, and compliance alerts.
Pre-Award & Post-Award Contract Management
- Evaluate RFPs, commercial clauses, liability terms, and payment structures.
- Partner with BD, Estimation, and Legal teams to assess risks and structure mitigation plans.
- Ensure proper enforcement of contracts post-award, including scope changes and claims.
Risk Management & Commercial Safeguards
- Identify red flags in contracts and proactively mitigate legal and commercial risks.
- Champion a zero-financial-loss mindset through disciplined execution and vigilant monitoring.
- Coordinate dispute resolution, termination protocols, and legal escalations.
Bank Guarantees & Insurance Oversight
- Manage end-to-end lifecycle of BGs in collaboration with clients, banks, and finance teams.
- Ensure accurate and timely issuance, renewals, and release of BGs to minimize exposure.
- Supervise initiation and compliance of various insurance policies (CAR, WC, Marine, PI, etc.).
Claims & Change Management
- Lead the preparation and review of EOT (Extension of Time) claims supported by delay analysis.
- Drive documentation and negotiation of commercial claims and contract deviations.
Corporate & Strategic Contract Management
- Review and negotiate company-level contracts, NDAs, MoUs, JV agreements, and service agreements.
- Ensure legal risk vetting, executive alignment, and statutory compliance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Liaise with internal stakeholders across legal, procurement, projects, finance, and BD teams.
- Serve as a legal-commercial bridge during escalations and contract deviations.
Eligibility
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Law, or Commerce (Master’s degree or LL.B. preferred).
- Experience: 15–20 years in contracts and commercial roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Domain Expertise: Large-scale infrastructure, EPC, or MEP contracts in both Indian and international contexts.
- Global Exposure: Experience working in Southeast Asia, especially Indonesia, will be a strong advantage.
