Details of the Job/Internship

Target is hiring a Lead Counsel with experience of 8–10 years to join their office in Bengaluru. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Lead legal support for the leasing, licensing, acquisition, and management of commercial properties in India and Asia.
• Draft and negotiate high-value commercial agreements, including MSAs, MOUs, CSR agreements, and sourcing contracts.
• Partner with Procurement teams to develop standardized playbooks and contract templates for global consistency.
• Conduct due diligence on property titles and advise on transaction structures to mitigate commercial risks.
• Ensure organizational compliance with IT regulations, data privacy laws, Labour Laws, and Cyber Law.
• Identify and assess legal risks arising from vendor engagements and property-related matters.
• Manage litigation and pre-litigation strategies for commercial disputes, IP matters, and POSH-related issues.
• Collaborate with global legal teams on cross-border transactions and the operationalization of regulatory policies.

Eligibility

• Law degree from a tier-one law school in India.
• 8–10 years of experience in a law firm or in-house role with strong exposure to real estate and commercial contracting.
• Demonstrated experience in the implementation and operationalization of regulatory frameworks within large organizations.
• Proven track record of working on cross-border matters, particularly within Asia markets.
• Expertise in handling POSH-related matters, including advisory and internal investigations.
• Strong understanding of risk management and dispute resolution frameworks.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills suitable for a global corporate setting.
