Details of the Job/Internship

GMR Group is hiring a Lead Counsel - Strategic Litigations with experience of 12-15 years to join their office in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.

Role and Responsibilities

• Manage high-value, precedent-setting litigations including writ petitions, SLPs, and environmental matters before the NGT and Supreme Court.
• Develop litigation strategies, legal positioning, and key arguments for the airport business.
• Lead case briefings and document reviews in coordination with senior counsels and law firms.
• Address disputes arising from concession agreements, service contracts, and regulatory directions.
• Draft legal notices, counterclaims, and responses to regulatory authorities regarding policy amendments.
• Conduct detailed legal research to identify judicial trends and maintain internal precedent databases.
• Track and report ongoing litigation outcomes and legal risks through structured MIS and dashboards.
• Represent the legal team in internal review meetings and participate in industry consultations.

Eligibility

• LL.B degree (mandatory); LL.M is preferred.
• 12-15 years of post-qualification experience in handling government responses and regulatory communication.
• At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in infrastructure, aviation, or regulated sectors.
• Proficiency in litigation management, regulatory compliance, and legal research.
• Strong ability in strategic orientation, problem-solving, and analytical thinking.
