Details of the Job/Internship
As a legal counsel, you will support the commercial side of the business and will be responsible for independently providing legal advisory to business on operations, commercial contracts and process issues arising in the GE Healthcare South Asia region. Role requirement is for a 5-8 year’s general corporate and commercial contracts experience candidate with a focus on statutory compliance and litigation management. Candidate will be based in Bengaluru.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Acting as a business partner by applying combined business and legal judgment to proposed deals, relationships and other issues requiring legal or compliance attention across GE Healthcare business in India/South Asia.
- Set up and monitor the regulatory change management process for Wipro GE. Monitoring E-tools for observing overall statutory compliance status of the company and promptly act to mitigate any non-compliance.
- Oversee emerging risks as well as corrective actions and implement strategies that will protect the business and manage business risk.
- Advising the business on general commercial legislations & industry specific regulations
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating strategic business agreements and transactions such as sales agreements, distribution contracts etc.
- Responsible for structuring commercial transactions considering commercial arrangement, appropriate local law, international jurisdiction for dispute resolution, tax issues etc.
- Monitor disputes and litigations and supervise external counsels with controlled budget.
- Keeping up to date with laws that may have impact on the business.
Eligibility
- Qualifications And Desired Characteristics
- Minimum LLB with of 5-8 years of general corporate and contracts experience.
- In-house experience or corporate legal exposure especially in a medical device or pharmaceutical company is preferred.
- Independent experience of leading negotiations and closing complex business transactions and agreements.
- Previous experience prioritizing conflicting demands from multiple business clients in an extremely fast-paced and highly regulated industry. Experience in litigation or statutory compliance management is an advantage.
- Ability to liaise with various internal and external parties such as{{:}} Business/Function Heads, Senior Managers and colleagues; External - third parties with whom Company is negotiating (e.g., customers, vendors, service providers) and external corporate advisors (e.g., advocates, legal advisors). Ability to communicate using English and outstanding interpersonal skills.
