Details of the Job/Internship
DIYguru is looking for a candidate for the position of Legal Advisor with 5 years of experience to join the at their office in Delhi.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide Legal Support on Contracts: Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including service agreements, partnership agreements, licensing agreements, and vendor contracts. Ensure that all contracts protect the company’s interests and comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Advise on Partnerships and Collaborations: Provide legal guidance on partnerships and collaborations with educational institutions, industry partners, and government bodies. Ensure that all agreements are structured to mitigate risks and align with DIYguru’s strategic goals.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including corporate governance, data protection, consumer protection, and employment laws. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Manage Intellectual Property Matters: Oversee intellectual property (IP) matters, including the protection of trademarks, copyrights, and patents. Advise on IP strategies, manage IP portfolios, and handle IP disputes or infringement issues.
- Support Dispute Resolution and Litigation: Provide legal support in dispute resolution and litigation matters, including drafting legal documents, coordinating with external counsel, and representing the company in negotiations or proceedings.
- Conduct Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on various issues affecting the company, including changes in laws and regulations, and provide proactive legal advice to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
- Review and Update Legal Documents: Regularly review and update legal documents, templates, and policies to reflect changes in the law and best practices. Ensure that all legal documents are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with the company’s objectives.
- Provide Training and Guidance: Educate and train employees on legal and compliance matters, including contract management, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance. Foster a culture of legal awareness and risk management across the organization.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with various departments, including sales, marketing, finance, HR, and product development, to provide legal support and ensure alignment with legal requirements and company policies.
Eligibility
- A bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university. A master’s degree in Law (LLM) or a specialized certification in corporate or intellectual property law is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate law, contract law, or a related legal field, preferably within the education, technology, or mobility sectors.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, intellectual property law, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts for non-legal stakeholders.
- Experience in managing partnerships, collaborations, and IP portfolios.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating legal risks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
