Details of the Job/Internship

S-squad Global is hiring for the position of Legal and Compliance Executive with 5 years of experience to join their office in Bengaluru. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on a broad range of corporate matters including mergers & acquisitions, corporate governance, and contract negotiations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including software licensing, partnership, employment, and confidentiality agreements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant local and international laws, including GDPR, CCPA, and other data privacy and software regulations.
• Oversee intellectual property matters, including trademarks, patents, and copyrights.
• Develop, review, and implement corporate compliance programs, policies, and risk management protocols.
• Conduct ongoing legal research and provide updates on new laws, regulatory changes, and industry standards.
• Collaborate with internal departments such as Sales, R&D, Marketing, and HR to provide legal support.
• Handle employment law issues including employment contracts and dispute resolution.
• Manage external counsel relationships and liaise with regulatory authorities as necessary.
• Support and maintain ISO compliance and other internal audit/legal documentation requirements.
• Design and deliver compliance training programs for employees.

Eligibility

• LLB/LLM or JD from a recognized institution; admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate law and compliance, preferably within the technology or software sector.
• Strong knowledge of corporate law (including English law preferred), data protection laws, and intellectual property law.
• Experience with ISO standards and international compliance frameworks.
• Exceptional communication, drafting, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
• High degree of professional integrity and ethics.
• Additional certifications (e.g., CIPP, CISSP) are a plus.

Salary/Stipend
