Details of the Job/Internship
Rangsutra Crafts is hiring for the position of Legal and Compliance Head with 5+ years of experience to join their office in Bikaner.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead the legal and compliance function across Rangsutra and its production centres.
- Ensure organization-wide compliance with applicable laws, including labour, factory, environmental, and commercial regulations.
- Interpret and implement buyer compliance requirements in line with Rangsutra’s ethical and operational standards.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and MoUs.
- Provide legal counsel to senior management and internal departments.
- Represent the organization in legal proceedings and liaise with external counsel when required.
- Manage and mitigate legal risks through proactive policy and procedure development.
- Support and lead compliance audits by buyers (e.g., IKEA) and third-party auditors.
- Oversee the SSTS process and ensure timely sub-supplier audits and updates on buyer portals.
- Maintain and update a robust annual compliance calendar, ensuring timely renewals and filings.
- Develop a compliance audit matrix to facilitate cross-audits at all production centres.
- Integrate legal and compliance tracking within the ERP platform to enable real-time monitoring and reporting.
- Coordinate with relevant government departments to obtain and renew necessary certifications and licences under various acts, including:
- Factories Act, 1948
- Fire Safety Act
- Environmental and Labour Codes (OSH Code, EPF Act, Code on Wages, etc.)
- Collaborate with the Company Secretary to ensure overall corporate compliance.
- Build, mentor, and lead the compliance team, conducting regular training and awareness sessions.
- Guide and review documentation by the compliance team to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Foster leadership capabilities within the team to scale Rangsutra’s compliance efforts.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized institution; LL.M. is a plus.
- Licensed to practice law in India.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate legal and compliance roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
- In-depth knowledge of Indian corporate, labour, and environmental laws.
- Strong experience in managing audits, legal processes, and government liaison.
- Proficiency with compliance tools and ERP systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- High ethical standards and discretion in handling sensitive information.
