Details of the Job/Internship

Ssquad Global is seeking a Legal and Compliance Officer (IT Agreements) in Bengaluru. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate law and compliance, preferably in the technology or software industry.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide legal support and guidance on a wide range of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, contract negotiations, and corporate governance.
• Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts, including software licensing agreements, partnership agreements, and confidentiality agreements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and industry-specific regulations.
• Manage intellectual property matters, including trademarks, patents, and copyrights.
• Oversee and manage company policies related to corporate compliance, ethics, and risk management.
• Conduct legal research and provide updates on new laws, regulations, and industry trends.
• Collaborate with various departments (e.g., R&D, Marketing, Sales) to provide legal advice and support.
• Handle employment law matters, including drafting employment contracts and handling disputes.
• Manage external legal counsel and liaise with regulatory authorities as needed.
• Develop and implement compliance training programs for employees.

Eligibility

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate law and compliance, preferably in the technology or software industry.
• Strong knowledge of intellectual property law, data privacy laws, and software licensing.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High level of integrity and professional ethics.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP, CISSP) are a plus.
