Details of the Job/Internship

Nutreco is hiring a Legal and E&C Counsel with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) to manage legal and compliance risks for its Indian operating companies.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide clear and timely legal and Ethics & Compliance (E&C) advice to Indian entities.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts with a strong focus on risk management and maintain the contract management system.
• Contribute to the development, monitoring, and implementation of Legal and E&C policies, procedures, and templates.
• Deliver training sessions on Legal and E&C topics and monitor compliance with internal policies.
• Manage external counsel as necessary and maintain structured reporting to the BU Asia Lead Counsel.
• Participate in the management team of the General Manager of Indian companies upon request.
• Conduct investigations concerning Indian entities in coordination with the BU Counsel Asia.

Eligibility

• Law degree from a reputable university and licensed as a lawyer in India or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience, ideally with a major law firm or a multinational company.
• Strong knowledge of contract, competition, and corporate law; knowledge of data protection or feed law is an advantage.
• In-depth knowledge of India’s legal landscape, including cross-border transactions and data privacy.
• Fluent in English with excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proven ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and maintain a high level of professional integrity.
• Willingness to travel periodically within India and occasionally to Thailand or The Netherlands.
