Details of the Job/Internship
StepChange is hiring a Legal and Policy Associate-Founder's Office with experience of 3 to 5 years to join their office in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
- End-to-end legal Advisory and Compliance: Including corporate governance, making applications/ filings, compliance, intellectual property, litigation, and employment law.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, vendors, and partners.
- Investor Relations: Reviewing/ preparing documentation for investors/ fundraising.
- Dispute Resolution: Managing any disputes that arise, including coordinating with external counsel as necessary.
- Research: Tracking market and regulatory trends to identify risks and opportunities for StepChange
- Policy Tracking: Proactively monitoring policy changes domestically and globally in a structured manner, enabling our product to evolve with regulatory shifts
- Research Writing: Whitepapers, blogs, and reports to deepen StepChange’s ecosystem engagement.
- Network of Solutions: Adding value to StepChange’s solution suite by identifying, reaching out to, and engaging solution providers in the ESG improvement/ risk mitigation themes.
Eligibility
- Education: An LLB from an accredited law school.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience at a law firm, preferably across contracts, transactions, and litigation.
Skills:
- Mission-aligned and passionate about startups, sustainability, and decarbonization; prior experience in any of these is a plus.
- Interested in research, writing, and policy engagement.
- Diligent and proactive, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with competing priorities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams effectively.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex topics clearly and concisely.
Salary/Stipend
