Details of the Job/Internship
eBay is hiring a Legal Assistant with experience in IP/patent support to join their Patents & Open Source team in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
- Maintain patent dockets: capture deadlines, verify accuracy, trigger reminders, and flag risks.
- Prepare and assemble filing packages (specifications, claims, abstracts, figures, forms) adhering to style guides.
- Coordinate signatures and supporting documents, track status, and archive final copies.
- Support AI-assisted drafting workflows by following checklists, formatting rules, and performing quality checks.
- Partner with attorneys, agents, and outside counsel on submission logistics and communications.
- Compile and maintain reference libraries, prior art citations, and portfolio metadata.
- Operationalize templates and pattern libraries for repeatable tasks; propose SOP improvements.
- Manage IPSC meeting operations: agendas, materials, minutes, and tracking outcomes.
- Produce metrics and status reports for filings, office actions, allowances, and cycle times.
- Coordinate vendor administration, invoicing, purchase requests, and budget reconciliation.
- Uphold confidentiality and compliance standards; follow data governance and record retention requirements.
Eligibility
- Experience as a legal assistant or paralegal, preferably in IP/patent.
- Strong document discipline, accuracy, and ability to manage multiple matters.
- Comfortable with AI-enabled workflows, structured templates, and SOP evaluation.
- Strong written communication and ability to apply style guides consistently.
- Proficient in legal document management systems, trackers, and collaboration tools.
- Collaborative, inclusive, and able to work in a hybrid, cross-time-zone environment.
- High integrity, judgment, and commitment to confidentiality and continuous improvement.
