Details of the Job/Internship
ATLAS Transformers India Limited is hiring for the position of Legal Assistant to join their Vadodara office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Document Preparation and Management:
- Draft, proofread, and format legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, discovery documents, and motions.
- File documents with courts or government agencies as required by law.
- Maintain and organize legal files, records, and databases.
- Legal Research:
- Conduct research on laws, regulations, and case law relevant to ongoing cases.
- Gather evidence, including medical records, contracts, and other documents required for case preparation.
- Summarize research findings for attorneys to review.
- Client Interaction and Communication:
- Communicate with clients to gather information, schedule meetings, and provide updates on case progress.
- Assist clients with routine inquiries and provide basic information about their case status.
- Court Support:
- Prepare and organize documents for court hearings, depositions, and trials.
- Attend hearings or trials to take notes and provide support during proceedings.
- Coordinate the filing of court documents and ensure deadlines are met.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain attorney calendars, scheduling meetings, court dates, and deadlines. Visit to government office for all liasaning work
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and other correspondence, ensuring that all legal communication is directed to the appropriate attorney or department.
- Prepare billing statements for clients and manage invoicing as necessary.
- Case Management:
- Monitor case progress, ensuring that key dates and deadlines are adhered to.
- Coordinate with other professionals, including experts and witnesses, as part of case preparation.
- Assist with trial preparation by organizing evidence, preparing exhibits, and managing logistics.
- Confidentiality and Ethical Standards:
- Handle sensitive client information with confidentiality and integrity.
- Adhere to legal and ethical standards in all aspects of job performance.
Eligibility
- Education: An associate degree in paralegal studies, legal assistant certification, or a related field is typically required. A bachelor's degree may be preferred for some positions.
- Experience: Previous experience in a law firm or legal department is preferred, but entry-level candidates with legal studies education may be considered.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in legal software (e.g., case management systems, document management software).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of legal terminology, processes, and procedures.
- Ability to conduct legal research using online databases and resources.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
