Clerk-Tech is hiring a Legal Assistant to join their office in Online mode.
Role and Responsibilities
- Document Preparation: Draft and format legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal procedures and guidelines.
- Client Interaction: Communicate with clients, schedule appointments, and assist in managing client relationships while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Research: Conduct legal research, including case law, statutes, and regulations, to support attorneys in building strong cases and preparing legal arguments.
- Case Management: Assist in maintaining and organizing case files, tracking important deadlines, and managing court dates and appointments.
- Administrative Support: Handle general administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, managing email correspondence, photocopying, faxing, and maintaining the office calendar.
- Billing and Timekeeping: Assist in tracking billable hours, preparing invoices, and managing financial records related to client accounts.
- Court Filings: Prepare and file legal documents with courts and government agencies, ensuring compliance with filing requirements and deadlines.
- Legal Database Management: Maintain and update legal databases, ensuring that all information is accurate and accessible to the legal team.
Eligibility
- A bachelor's degree in a related field or a legal assistant/paralegal certificate is preferred.
- Prior experience as a legal assistant or in a similar role is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Professionalism and discretion when dealing with confidential information.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasksgree in a related field.
