Details of the Job/Internship
Shree Krishna Stevedores Private Limited is hiring a Legal Assistant with strong exposure to shipping, port, and logistics laws to support its legal and compliance functions. The role involves end-to-end legal documentation, coordination with external legal counsel, and handling legal matters related to ports, customs, contracts, and statutory compliances. The position follows a hybrid work model, with three days per week office presence. Part-time engagement can also be considered.
Role and Responsibilities
- Maintain, organize, and manage all legal documents, agreements, notices, and case files related to logistics and port operations.
- Coordinate and liaise with external lawyers, advocates, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Proofread, review, and vet contracts, agreements, indemnities, undertakings, and commercial documents.
- Assist in matters relating to Port Laws, Shipping Laws, customs-related disputes, refund claims, and statutory compliances.
- Draft and prepare legal notices, replies, counter-replies, representations, and legal correspondence.
- Prepare case summaries, background notes, and documentation for ongoing and potential disputes.
- Track legal timelines, hearings, filings, and follow-ups with advocates and authorities.
- Support management in interpreting legal implications of operational and contractual matters.
- Ensure proper record-keeping and confidentiality of sensitive legal information.
Eligibility
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Executive in logistics, shipping, port operations, or allied industries.
- Strong working knowledge of Shipping Laws, Port Trust regulations, customs procedures, and maritime-related legal matters.
- Proven experience in drafting legal documents, notices, and replies.
- Ability to understand commercial contracts and operational legal risks.
- Familiarity with refund claims, port charges, disputes, and statutory correspondence.
