Simera is hiring a Legal Assistant to support attorneys and the legal team by managing documentation, providing administrative assistance, and ensuring efficient case handling. The role requires strong organizational skills, professionalism, and the ability to manage confidential information.
Role and Responsibilities
- Manage calendars, appointments, hearings, and meetings for attorneys.
- Handle email correspondence, phone calls, and client communication.
- Organize and maintain digital and physical filing systems.
- Prepare, format, and proofread letters, reports, and internal documents.
- Assist with billing, timekeeping, and expense tracking.
- Draft, edit, and prepare legal documents, including motions, contracts, affidavits, and correspondence.
- Perform basic legal research and gather case-related information.
- Organize case files, exhibits, and evidence for hearings or trials.
- Assist with submission of legal forms, filings, and court documents.
- Track deadlines and required follow-ups.
- Communicate with clients, court personnel, and external partners.
Eligibility
- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary, or Administrative Assistant, preferably in a law firm.
- Understanding of legal terminology, documentation, and procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
