Waters Corporation is hiring a Legal Assistant with experience of 3-5 years to join their office in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
- Manage intake, triage, and assignment of legal matters using the matter management system.
- Analyse requests to determine appropriate legal support, including review, preparation, and finalization of agreements.
- Provide timely legal support across workstreams such as NDAs, distribution agreements, seeding agreements, MTAs, CDAs, template management, entity management, and governance documentation.
- Create, manage, and maintain legal matters ensuring data integrity and governance compliance.
- Coordinate stakeholders, manage workflows, and support reporting for efficient legal operations.
- Maintain legal templates, playbooks, and knowledge bases.
- Collaborate with global legal teams to ensure consistent delivery.
- Support legal technology and automation initiatives including document automation and e-signature platforms.
- Ensure compliance with governance, data privacy, and confidentiality standards.
- Administer the matter management system and identify improvements.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize confidentiality agreements, material transfer agreements, beta agreements, and seed agreements within playbook guidelines.
- Provide administrative support including calendar and content management for team activities.
Eligibility
- Bachelor of Law (LL.B) or equivalent legal qualification.
- 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal or in matter and contract management including contract review, drafting, and negotiation.
- Excellent English communication skills with experience working with in-house legal teams across EMEA, Europe, and APAC.
- Experience in legal operations, shared services, or an in-house legal function.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and solve problems independently.
- Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Familiarity with global contracting standards.
- Experience working with legal technology such as CLM, workflow, and document automation tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and matter management systems.
