Details of the Job/Internship
JPMorgan Chase& Co. is hiring Legal Associate/ Analyst with the experience of 2 to 4 years to join their office in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
- Advising on company law and corporate governance matters;
- Advising and assisting with any firm internal restructuring or capital action projects including reorganizations, capital investments and mergers;
- Reporting on organizational changes which requires regulatory notification or reportorial submission
- Performing the roles and responsibilities of a CGC for the entity, including timely updating and accurately providing information on internal management systems
- Advising on corporate procedures and record retention, as relates to governance matters;
- Advising on signing authorities and delegations of authority;
- Advising on inter-affiliate service agreements, contracts, and managing certain regulatory filings;
- Participating in cross line of business initiatives/practice groups as a subject matter expert on local laws and regulations;
- Collaborating with other legal teams and functional partners to ensure appropriate awareness and escalation of issues as they arise;
- Identifying and communicating statutory / regulatory trends and developments and advising business management on the impact to JPM's operations in India for matters relating to company law;
- Providing corporate secretarial support for regulatory filings, exams, audits; regulatory inspections and managing external counsel as instructed to support a particular project (as much of the work is done in-house as possible).
- Promoting and driving consistent standards for legal entity governance that support the firm's strategic objectives;
- Providing guidance and oversight for these items to non-Legal corporate secretaries in accordance with internal model and standards;
- Providing directors, senior management and legal entities with advice, support and training across corporate governance matters, including in relation to relevant laws and regulations, governance practices and legal entity management; and advising and assisting, as appropriate, with resolution and recovery plan related matters and other local, regional and global projects.
Eligibility
- Qualified Company Secretary who is a Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI)
- Preferably has a degree of Law
- At least 2 to 4 years post-qualification experience in the relevant job profile
- Ability to work as a collaborative and proactive member of a team
- Must be reliable, meticulous, organized and take pride in your work
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and within tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
- Excellent written and spoken English is imperative
