Details of the Job/Internship
Opptra is hiring a Legal Associate (Corporate) with 3–5+ years of experience to join their office in Bangalore Urban. The role involves establishing and scaling Opptra’s legal function to support its long-term global growth strategy, ensuring compliant and risk-managed market entry across multiple countries.
Role and Responsibilities
- Set up and manage legal entities across jurisdictions, handling incorporation, foreign investment, and regulatory processes.
- Oversee compliance including corporate governance, commercial contracts, product regulations, IP, and employment law.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with suppliers, distributors, partners, and franchisees.
- Build and scale legal frameworks to support brand entry and expansion in multiple markets.
- Manage relationships with external counsel to ensure efficiency and aligned advice.
- Implement and optimize legal technology tools for efficiency and compliance.
- Provide strategic legal advice to leadership as a proactive partner in business growth.
Eligibility
- Law degree with 3–5+ years of relevant legal experience.
- Multi-country expertise, with exposure to India, GCC, and Southeast Asia.
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, commercial contracts, franchise/licensing, IP, regulatory compliance, employment law, and company secretarial matters.
- Experience in building and scaling legal frameworks for growth-stage companies.
- Skilled in managing external counsel across multiple markets.
- Familiarity with legal technology tools such as contract management and compliance monitoring systems.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills with the ability to work with marketing, finance, supply chain, and product teams.
- High ethical standards, sound judgment, and the ability to advise senior leadership.
