Details of the Job/Internship

Opptra is seeking a Legal Lead to build and scale a robust legal and compliance framework across multiple international markets.

Role and Responsibilities

• Compliance & Risk Management:
• Design and implement scalable compliance frameworks across India, GCC, and Southeast Asia.
• Ensure adherence to local laws governing online and offline retail operations.
• Identify, manage, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks.
• Corporate & Transactional Support:
• Handle multi-country incorporations, restructuring, and regulatory approvals.
• Draft, negotiate, and standardize commercial contracts for suppliers, franchisees, and partners.
• Advise on foreign investment regulations and cross-border structuring.
• Legal Infrastructure & Operations:
• Build agile legal processes using contract lifecycle management and legal tech tools.
• Implement automation and AI-driven solutions to manage high-volume legal work efficiently.
• Reduce reliance on external counsel through smart structuring and standardized documentation.
• Business Partnership:
• Act as a trusted advisor to leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Provide early-stage legal input on market entry, partnerships, and product launches.
• Align legal strategies with business objectives to support rapid and sustainable growth.
• External Stakeholder Management:
• Coordinate with and manage external legal counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
• Negotiate scopes and fees and consolidate multi-country legal advice into a unified approach.

Eligibility

• 3–5+ years of legal experience with strong multi-country exposure, particularly in India, GCC, and Southeast Asia.
• Hands-on experience in setting up legal entities and operations across jurisdictions.
• Demonstrated expertise in corporate law, regulatory compliance, IP, employment law, and company secretarial matters.
• Proven experience in launching new markets and scaling businesses across regions.

Salary/Stipend
