Details of the Job/Internship
FREED is hiring for the position of Legal Associate – Fintech and Regulatory with 2 years of experience to join their office in Gurugram.
Role and Responsibilities
- Legal & Regulatory Advisory: Interpret and apply key regulatory frameworks, including RBI guidelines, KYC/AML laws, IT Act, and data privacy rules, to business operations and product development.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts such as vendor agreements, NDAs, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Product Compliance: Work cross-functionally with product and operations teams to ensure legal and regulatory compliance is embedded in processes (e.g., customer onboarding, digital payments).
- Regulatory Monitoring: Stay updated on regulatory developments from RBI, SEBI, NPCI, and others. Prepare clear, actionable legal briefs and memos for internal stakeholders.
- External Liaison: Coordinate with regulators, legal advisors, and compliance consultants as needed.
- Policy Development: Assist in drafting and updating internal policies, including data privacy, grievance redressal, terms of use, and data governance.
Eligibility
Qualifications:
- LL.B. from a recognized Indian law school.
- 1–2 years of post-qualification experience in fintech, banking/financial services, or technology law (experience in a startup or law firm is a plus).
Key Skills:
- Solid understanding of RBI regulations, digital lending guidelines, and key fintech compliance frameworks.
- Strong skills in legal drafting, regulatory research, and stakeholder communication.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a willingness to take ownership.
Salary/Stipend
