Details of the Job/Internship

Riverus is hiring a Legal Associate – VC & Venture Debt (Level II | 2–3 yrs PQE) to join their South Mumbai office.

Role and Responsibilities

• Work under a lead partner to execute VC, PE, and venture-debt deals from term sheet to closing.
• Draft, review, and negotiate SHA, SSA/SPSA, notes/debentures, ESOP documents, disclosure schedules, CP, and closing documents.
• Conduct legal diligence and prepare reports, red flags, and risk matrices.
• Manage signing, closing, filings, and post-closing compliances.
• Work directly with founders, funds, and lenders with early client exposure.
• Use Riverus’ AI tools to speed up reviews, identify risks early, and keep deals moving.

Eligibility

• Enrolment as a lawyer with the Maharashtra State Bar Council or any other State Bar Council.
• 2–4 years of experience in VC, PE, or venture-debt transactions (firm or in-house).
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
• Strong knowledge of the Companies Act, FEMA/FDI, and RBI regulations.
• Clear communication, attention to detail, and ability to work with fast timelines.

Salary/Stipend
