Details of the Job/Internship
Oon & Bazul LLC is hiring a Legal Associate – Shipping & International Trade with experience of 3–5 years to join their office in Singapore.
Role and Responsibilities
- Work on shipping and maritime disputes including charterparty and COA disputes, cargo claims, marine insurance disputes, ship arrests, collisions, maritime casualties, offshore, energy, and trade-related disputes.
- Act in Singapore court proceedings and international arbitrations including LMAA, SIAC, SCMA, and ad hoc arbitrations.
- Contribute to strategy, case management, and client advisory work.
- Manage client relationships and cross-border matters with increasing autonomy.
- Support the development of the practice as the firm expands into new areas of shipping and trade disputes.
Eligibility
- Singapore-qualified lawyer with 3–5 years’ PQE.
- Strong interest and foundation in shipping and maritime disputes.
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and advocacy skills.
- Arbitration experience preferred but not mandatory.
- Commercial awareness and sound business judgement.
- Interest in client relationship management and long-term professional development.
