Details of the Job/Internship

Treelife is hiring for the position of Legal Associate - Transactions with 2-4 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Draft and Vet Key Legal Documents: Term sheets, investment agreements, shareholder agreements, share purchase agreements, closing sets, and related transactional documents.
• Transaction Support (End-to-End): From due diligence to pre-closing and post-closing matters, you'll assist across all stages of investment transactions.
• Corporate Advisory Work: Offer legal advice on Company Law, Data Protection, Commercial Contracts, Foreign Investments, M&A, and Exit Strategies.
• Navigate Complex Structures: Work with varied business models, founders, and investors to craft effective legal solutions.
• Understand and Negotiate Legal Clauses: Use sound legal judgment to explain, interpret, and negotiate commercial clauses effectively.
• Cross-Functional Learning: Gain exposure to adjacent areas like finance, regulatory frameworks, and taxation

Eligibility

• Qualifications: BLS/LLB/LLM or BA LLB/LLM from a recognized university.
• Experience: 2–4 years in a law firm (boutique or full-service) with hands-on experience in:
• Mergers & Acquisitions
• Private Equity / Venture Capital Transactions
• Corporate Restructuring & Reorganization

Skillset:

• Strong legal research, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to advise independently and work collaboratively.
• Fluent English (legal and conversational).
• High attention to detail with a startup mindset.
