Details of the Job/Internship
Treelife is hiring a Legal Associate – Transactions (M&A and PE/VC) with experience of 2–3 years to join their office in BKC, Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Drafting and vetting transactional documents for startups.
- Providing end-to-end support for investment transactions, including due diligence and closing processes.
- Assisting on matters relating to company law, data protection, commercial contracts, foreign investments, acquisitions, and exits.
- Advising on complex transaction structures across varied business models.
- Understanding and negotiating legal and commercial clauses for clients.
- Engaging with startup founders and investors and supporting cross-functional coordination.
Eligibility
- BLS (LLB/LLM) or BA (LLB/LLM) from a recognised university.
- 2–3 years of experience in a law firm or boutique firm.
- Hands-on experience in Mergers & Acquisitions, PE/VC transactions, and corporate restructuring and reorganisation.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in providing legal opinions.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with strong command over legal and colloquial language.
- Inclination to work in a fast-paced environment and build a professional network.
- Strong research, analysis, and interpretation skills.
- Prior startup experience preferred with a strong network.
