Details of the Job/Internship
Sony Pictures Networks India is hiring a Legal Associate for its Mumbai office. The role requires 2-6 years of experience, with 1-2 years in the Media & Entertainment industry, specifically in the OTT space.
Role and Responsibilities
- Advising the business team on various Legal and Commercial issues about the transactions in terms of, rights procurement, embargos on monetization, scope of intellectual property and other contractual rights and obligations.
- Deploy appropriate processes and practices in line with industry best practices to streamline the business.
- Pre-litigation documentation includes notices and responses to notices about LIV.
- Preparation of submissions to draft rules & bills, policy papers, consultation papers, etc., issued by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) (OTT related), etc.
- Advising various teams on data privacy compliance about LIV.
- Assist in collaborating with Indian Broadcasting and Digital Foundation (IBDF), Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) and other independent bodies.
Eligibility
- LL.B. (undergraduate law degree) from a recognized university in India.
- PQE of 2-6 years of legal experience (with several years of experience at leading global law firm(s) and/or in-house at a major multinational corporations), preferably with some portion of that experience in commercial transactions and intellectual property issues.
- 1–2 years in the Media & Entertainment Industry (more specifically in the OTT space).
