They take a collaborative, hands-on approach, co-building with the startups they invest in. They are currently seeking a legal professional to provide end-to-end legal support for corporate and international matters, ensuring that operations, including those of our portfolio company Bione, comply with all applicable legal and regulatory frameworks.

Details of the Job/Internship

Ajna Capital is hiring for the position of Legal Associate with 3-5 years of experience to join their office remotely. 

Role and Responsibilities

1. Corporate Legal Advisory

• Provide strategic legal counsel on corporate governance, investments, M&A, and joint ventures.
• Draft, review, and negotiate corporate agreements, contracts, MOUs, and shareholder agreements.
• Advise on company structuring and corporate law compliance across jurisdictions.
• Ensure alignment with domestic and international corporate regulatory standards.

2. International Legal Support

• Manage legal matters related to international operations, including setting up overseas entities.
• Advise on international expansion, trade law, and cross-border regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate legal due diligence for global M&A and partnership initiatives.
• Collaborate with external counsel in various jurisdictions for efficient legal execution.

3. Compliance & Risk Management

• Provide guidance on regulatory compliance including data protection, anti-bribery laws, and industry-specific requirements.
• Help develop internal policies and procedures to mitigate legal risk.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments globally and provide actionable insights.

4. Dispute Resolution & Litigation

• Oversee dispute resolution strategies, litigation, and settlement negotiations.
• Liaise with external counsel to manage ongoing or potential legal proceedings.

5. Cross-functional Collaboration

• Partner with senior leadership, business development, and finance teams to support strategic initiatives.
• Work closely with compliance and risk teams to align legal frameworks with business operations.

Eligibility

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B or JD) from a recognized institution; LLM or MBA preferred.
• Experience: 3–5 years in corporate and international legal practice, ideally within financial services, investment management, or technology sectors.
• Legal experience with multinational corporations, financial institutions, or investment firms.
• Familiarity with international trade law, securities regulation, or tax law.
• Exposure to venture capital, private equity, or investment banking sectors.
