Details of the Job/Internship
AORBIS Inc. is a US based group of companies in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction industry. They are looking for a Legal Associate to own legal and contract matters.
Job Timings: 3pm to 12am (Monday to Friday)
Role and Responsibilities
- Legal: Own broad spectrum of legal matters, including contracts, MSA, NDA, regulations, compliance, intellectual property, labor and employment, etc.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential legal risks and implications in the organization's activities, contracts, and decisions, and offer strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Contract Review and Drafting: Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents to ensure they align with the organization's interests and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Compliance: Monitor and ensure the organization's compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Litigation Support: Collaborate with external law firms in legal proceedings involving the organization, such as lawsuits, disputes, and regulatory investigations.
- Policy Development: Assist in the development and implementation of corporate policies and procedures that adhere to legal requirements and best practices.
- Employee Relations: Advise on employment law matters, including hiring, terminations, discrimination, harassment, and workplace policies.
- Intellectual Property: Protect the organization's intellectual property assets through trademark, copyright, and patent registrations, as well as ensuring compliance with intellectual property laws.
- Training and Education: Conduct legal training sessions for employees to ensure awareness of legal issues and compliance obligations.
- Research: Conduct legal research to stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to the organization's operations.
- Ethics and Governance: Advise on ethical considerations and corporate governance matters to maintain the organization's reputation and integrity.
- External Relations: Interface with external stakeholders, including regulators, government agencies, external legal counsel, and other parties, as required.
- Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive legal matters and privileged communications within and outside the organization.
Eligibility
- Bachelor's degree in Law/Legal or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with law, legal procedures, and protocols
- Effective communication skills
- Research abilities, analytical thinking, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
