Details of the Job/Internship
Ascend is looking for a candidate for the position of Legal Associate.
- Training period : 2 month.
- Location: Fully Remote work.
- Probationary period : 6 Months.
- Special Requirements: 1 day per week in U.S Chicago Central Standard Time (CST).
- Terms of employment: Internship, Full Time (40 hrs/week).
Role and Responsibilities
- Negotiating, drafting and reviewing a range of legal documents.
- Answering legal-related questions in particular privacy related questions.
- Conduct legal research on topics across immigration, corporate and IP law.
- Assist in ensuring that the organization or clients comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations that may affect the organization or clients.
- Organize case documents, update case management software, and track deadlines.
Eligibility
- A law graduate (Freshers/ Experienced), a bachelor's level degree in law is required.
- Proficient in strong legal research and have excellent writing abilities for drafting legal documents, memoranda, and reports.
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues, statutes, regulations, and case law critically.
- Clarity with fundamental understanding of legal concepts, terminology, and procedures.
- Adhere to the highest ethical and professional standards. They should be familiar with the rules of professional responsibility and maintain client confidentiality.
- Proficient in using legal research databases, processing software (such as MS Word, MS Excel) and Google workspaces (Drives, Docs, Sheets and slides).
- Ready to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and prioritize assignments.
- Work across different time zones especially US.
