Details of the Job/Internship

Careerpedia is hiring for the position of legal associate with 1-3 years of experience to join their office in Hyderabad. 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Draft and Review Legal Documents: Prepare, review, and revise contracts, agreements, terms of service, privacy policies, and other legal documents to ensure they are clear, comprehensive, and compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Monitor changes in relevant legislation and regulations affecting the ed-tech industry. Ensure the company’s practices and documentation remain compliant with federal, state, and international laws.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and provide recommendations for mitigating these risks through appropriate documentation and policies.
  • Contract Management: Oversee the contract lifecycle from negotiation to execution. Ensure that all contractual obligations are met and address any issues that arise during the contract term.
  • Intellectual Property: Assist in protecting the company’s intellectual property, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents. Collaborate with external counsel on IP-related matters as needed.
  • Legal Research: Conduct legal research on various issues related to education technology, privacy laws, and other relevant topics to support decision-making processes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including top-management, marketing, and operations, to ensure that legal considerations are integrated into business strategies and decisions.
  • Dispute Resolution: Support the resolution of legal disputes and issues, including coordinating with external legal counsel when necessary.

Eligibility

  • Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree or LLB, or equivalent from an accredited law school.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in legal practice, preferably with a focus on corporate law, contract law, or technology law.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of the ed-tech industry, intellectual property laws, data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and general corporate compliance.
  • Skills: Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.
  • Attributes: Proactive, adaptable, and able to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
