Cognizant is hiring candidates for the position of Legal Associate to join their Chennai office.

Role and Responsibilities

• Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research to support corporate legal matters, including compliance and governance.
• Document Drafting and Review: Assist in drafting and reviewing corporate legal documents such as contracts, agreements, replies and internal policies.
• Compliance Support: Assist in ensuring the company’s compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Stakeholder Interaction: Communicate with internal stakeholders to gather information, provide updates, and assist with legal inquiries.
• External Counsel Coordination: Liaise with external counsels in respect of ongoing cases and provide necessary litigation support.
• Administrative Support: Perform administrative duties such as assistance in preparation of internal presentations, scheduling meetings, and maintaining legal records.

Eligibility

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in law (BA.LLB) or equivalent; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Strong understanding of Contracts, Corporate Law and legal principles.
• Excellent research and analytical skills.
• Proficient in legal writing and document preparation.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.

Salary/Stipend

Compensation details will be finalized during the interview process with the selected candidate.
