Details of the Job/Internship
Gehi & Associates is hiring a Legal Associate with experience in U.S. Immigration laws to join its remote legal team in India.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft immigration forms, affidavits, and supporting documents.
- Regularly interact with USCIS to keep cases updated.
- Handle Family-based petitions, Bankruptcy, Divorce, Immigration, VAWA, and Asylum matters.
- Communicate legal advice with internal attorneys.
- Explain legal options and possible outcomes to clients.
- Address client concerns regarding deportation and termination proceedings.
- Communicate with clients to understand legal needs.
- Prepare case notes, reports, forms, and complete case packets.
- Prepare clients for interviews.
- Attend daily team meetings.
- Audit court and firm calendars.
- Perform additional duties related to firm growth as assigned.
Eligibility
- Minimum 3 years of litigation experience.
- Experience in immigration cases preferred.
- LLB degree and enrolment with the Bar.
- Strong analytical, research, and drafting skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
