Details of the Job/Internship

Houzeo is hiring a Legal Associate to join their Mumbai office. The role involves supporting regulatory compliance, legal research, contract review, and risk mitigation, contributing directly to the company’s legal strategy and operations.

Role and Responsibilities

• Manage real estate regulatory compliance by drafting and responding to legal notices from regulatory authorities across multiple U.S. states.
• Monitor evolving real estate laws and ensure cross-state compliance.
• Conduct legal research using platforms such as LexisNexis, SCC Online, Taxmann, and Manupatra.
• Review corporate agreements, assess liability, and advise on contractual obligations and risk exposure.
• Draft internal documents, including employment contracts and legal correspondence.
• Work directly with the CEO and senior leadership on high-impact legal matters.
• Provide general legal support, including research, drafting, and compliance-related matters, and coordinate with external counsel when necessary.

Eligibility

• LL.B. from a National Law University (NLU/NLS). Active bar membership is a plus.
• Fresh graduates with strong academic credentials are welcome.
• Solid understanding of contract law and U.S. real estate regulations.
• Exceptional research, drafting, and legal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration. Prior corporate legal internship experience is preferred.

Salary/Stipend
