Details of the Job/Internship
KLDiscovery is hiring for the position of Legal Associate to join their office in Chennai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Review, interpret, and abstract key data and clauses from a range of commercial agreements, including MSAs, NDAs, DPAs, amendments, and other non-standard contracts.
- Perform contract abstraction, summarization, and lifecycle management using CLM platforms such as Ironclad, ContractWorks, Conga, and Icertis.
- Ensure high-quality, accurate data input into CLM systems in compliance with established playbooks and client guidelines.
- Conduct peer reviews and quality checks on abstracted data to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Identify missing or unclear data points and flag them for additional follow-up.
- Perform quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) on reviewed contracts to maintain compliance standards.
- Mentor and train new team members on the contract abstraction process and best practices.
- Maintain and update internal process documentation, including SOPs, guidelines, and training manuals.
- Identify operational risks and escalate them appropriately to management.
- Generate reports and maintain accurate records of work completed for internal stakeholders and leadership.
- Assist in refining client-specific guidelines and contributing to ongoing process improvements.
Eligibility
- In-depth understanding of contract language and legal terminology.
- Proven experience in reviewing and managing contracts, particularly in CLM tools.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with contract lifecycle management platforms (e.g., Ironclad, Icertis, Conga) is a plus.
