Details of the Job/Internship

Mango Mass Media is hiring a Legal Associate with 0–3 years of experience to join its team in Hyderabad. The role involves handling legal agreements, content rights management, compliance, and dispute resolution in a fast-paced media and entertainment environment.

Role and Responsibilities

• Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalising agreements relating to content acquisition, licensing, syndication, distribution, production, talent, and vendor arrangements.
• Ensuring compliance of agreements with Indian contract law, intellectual property laws, broadcasting and OTT regulations, and internal governance policies.
• Maintaining and auditing the contract management system to monitor renewals, expirations, obligations, and deliverables.
• Conducting chain-of-title due diligence for content acquisitions and safeguarding intellectual property rights.
• Managing infringement monitoring, enforcement, and resolution of rights-related disputes.
• Coordinating with partner legal teams and external counsel for negotiations, dispute resolution, filings, hearings, and legal strategy.
• Representing or coordinating representation of the company in proceedings, arbitrations, and mediations.
• Drafting and reviewing legal notices, replies, and supporting pre-litigation strategy.
• Advising management on settlement, escalation, and alternative dispute resolution options.
• Monitoring legal developments in intellectual property, broadcasting, OTT regulations, and data privacy laws and communicating updates internally.
• Assessing legal risks and proposing practical mitigation strategies.
• Contributing to development and improvement of internal policies, contract templates, playbooks, and standard operating procedures for content rights, compliance, and dispute management.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or Master’s degree in Law (LLM).
• Enrolment with the Bar Council of India is preferred.
• 0–3 years of post-qualification experience with exposure to media and entertainment, OTT or digital content, content licensing, or intellectual property law.
• Hands-on experience in intellectual property rights, agreements, and litigation.
• Experience in pre-litigation strategy, regulatory compliance, and coordination with external counsel is desirable.
• Strong understanding of intellectual property laws, contract laws, OTT and digital media regulations, data protection laws, and contract management tools.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and research skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel for court appearances and partner meetings.
• Preference for candidates currently based in Hyderabad.

Salary/Stipend
