Details of the Job/Internship
Morae is hiring a Legal Associate with experience of 2 to 4 years to join their office in Cape Town.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents for Morae’s legal department.
- Provide legal advice and support to internal stakeholders on a wide range of legal issues, particularly in contracting and compliance to ensure the company’s activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of compliance policies and procedures and risk management initiatives, in consultation with internal stakeholders.
- Conduct legal research on various issues, including regulatory changes and their implications for the company.
- Assist in resolving labor-related disputes and support HR with employment law queries.
- Liaise with internal and external legal counsel as needed on specialized matters.
Eligibility
- LLB or equivalent degree from a recognized institution admitted to practice law in South Africa.
- 2-4 years of experience in a legal role, with a strong focus on contracting and commercial law.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Experience in South African compliance and labor laws will be highly beneficial.
