Multicon Group is hiring for the position of Legal Associate to join their office in Kolkata.
Role and Responsibilities
Legal Research & Analysis
- Conduct in-depth research on property law, real estate regulations, land acquisition, and arbitration.
- Analyze key legislations such as RERA, the Transfer of Property Act, the Rent Control Act, and Stamp Duty laws to support legal strategies.
- Provide compliance-related insights and legal interpretations to senior legal team members.
Document Drafting & Client Coordination
- Draft, review, and finalize legal documents including sale deeds, lease agreements, joint venture contracts, and conveyance deeds.
- Ensure all legal documentation adheres to statutory, regulatory, and client-specific standards.
- Liaise with clients to collect relevant details, provide updates, and resolve queries on legal matters related to property and arbitration.
Court & Arbitration Support
- Assist in preparing for and attending court hearings, arbitration proceedings, and mediations.
- Draft petitions, submissions, and legal responses for ongoing property and dispute resolution cases.
- File applications and supporting documents with relevant courts, tribunals, or arbitration forums.
Compliance & Due Diligence
- Conduct property-related due diligence including title verification, encumbrance checks, and regulatory compliance assessments.
- Prepare comprehensive due diligence and risk analysis reports for internal and external use.
- Support legal compliance in sectors such as real estate, foreign exchange (RBI/AD-II guidelines), cable TV, and education.
Administrative & Operational Support
- Maintain organized legal records, compliance documentation, and property files.
- Monitor adherence to legal standards across relevant laws including TDSAT, Cable TV & Network regulations, and education sector norms.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized university.
- Enrollment with the Bar Council (preferred).
- Sound knowledge of real estate and property laws, arbitration frameworks, and sector-specific regulations.
- Exposure to laws governing foreign exchange (RBI/AD-II), Cable TV, and education sector compliance.
- Strong drafting, analytical, and legal research skills.
- Proficiency in legal databases, research tools, and the MS Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively with teams and clients.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
