Details of the Job/Internship

NxtWave is hiring for the position of Legal Associate with 2+ years of experience to join their office in Hyderabad. 

Role and Responsibilities

1. Contract Management & Legal Documentation

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements.
• Conduct legal research and assist in preparing legal briefs, notes, and documentation.
• Collaborate with teams to minimize contractual risks and ensure favorable terms.

2. Compliance Management

• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulatory standards, and company policies.
• Monitor legal and regulatory changes; assess their implications and recommend actions.
• Assist in managing regulatory audits and responses to inquiries from authorities.
• Maintain statutory registers and ensure timely regulatory filings.

3. Corporate Governance

• Support in drafting board resolutions, minutes, and managing compliance related to board and committee meetings.
• Maintain corporate records in line with governance best practices.

4. Risk Mitigation

• Identify potential legal and regulatory risks, evaluate their impact, and suggest mitigation strategies.
• Contribute to the development of internal controls and legal protocols.

5. Operational Support & Communication

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed legal safeguards in operational workflows.
• Maintain effective documentation and internal communication on legal matters.
• Organize meetings and manage records related to legal and compliance functions.

6. General Legal Support

• Provide ongoing legal assistance to internal stakeholders and participate in strategic discussions.
• Contribute to team knowledge-sharing and continuous process improvement.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law (LLB or LLM) from a recognized institution.
• 2+ years of legal experience for Senior Legal Associate; 1+ year of in-house legal experience for Legal Associate.
• Strong knowledge of contract law, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
